I usually don’t post about food but there are so many scenic locations to eat in Bali, I thought I’d make an exception. Theres no shortage of delicious restaurants and cafes, especially in Ubud. Pretty much any place you go is going to be great. So instead of listing restaurants with the best food, I put together a list of my favorite restaurants/cafes with a view (in no particular order).
Bali Restaurants with a View
1.Karsa Cafe- peaceful garden setting in the country next to a rice paddy in Ubud. They have over water bungalows to relax and take in the view. You can hike the Campuhan Ridge Walk to get here or drive a scooter around the back roads. They have a spa here as well.
2.Single Fin- casual cliffside bar in Uluwatu that’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy the susnet here while watching pros surf the big waves.
3.Basanta Agro Organic- This plantation, north of Ubud, offers free coffee and tea tastings with a scenic view of the valley. The food and drinks at their restaurant are super flavorful and made fresh from the garden. They grow all their own vegetables, herbs, coffee and cacao. They also have a giant birds nest you can relax in.
4.Finns Beach Club- restaurant/day club on the beach in Canggu. It’s free entry and buy 1 get 1 free drinks at happy hour, from 7-9pm. You can rent a daybed at the pool for an additional price. This is a great place to watch the sunset.
5.Indus Restaurant- this restaurant in Ubud has a cliffside view of the jungle (across the valley from Campuhan Ridge Walk). They have a nice happy hour from 5-7pm, discount drinks with complimentary tapas.
6.Alon Alon Cafe– tiki style terrace restaurant and ice cream shop, north of Ubud, overlooking the scenic Tegalalang rice fields.
7.Atman Kafe (2 locations- the south location has a view)- this cafe is right in the center of downtown Ubud. When you walk to the back of the cafe, there are seats overlooking a rice paddy with ducks swimming in the pond. All the food and drinks on the menu are mouth watering (vegan and vegetarian options).
Luxury:
8.La View Restaurant at Kupa Kupa Barong Villas – an upscale restaurant with a hillside jungle view in Ubud. You can reserve dinner in a private birds nest. It’s $80USD/person for the nest and includes a 5 course set meal. They also have a dinner table set in the center of an infinity pool with a spectacular view. It’s $85USD/person and also comes with a 5 course set meal.
9.Swept Away Restaurant at Samaya Resort- this upscale restaurant in Ubud, is set on a river in the jungle. Come here for lunch, dinner or just a drink and enjoy the view. It’s open for lunch from 11-4pm and dinner from 5:30-10pm.
10.El Kabron- an upscale cliffside tapas restaurant and day club in Uluwatu, with a 164 foot high infinity pool overlooking the beach. It’s open from 11:30am-10pm. Theres no cover or spending limit for the cliffside bar, terrace or restaurant. Since this is an upscale restaurant, theres a ‘smart casual’ dress code. If you want to use the infinity pool and daybeds (lazy chairs), it’s $38USD but $35 of it can be used as food/drink credit.
